How can I get a good crema?

The filter you select and the grind you use will have an impact on the crema. Please read our articles “What is the difference between the pressurized and non-pressurized filter?” and “Which grind is the more suitable?” for more information.

If you use the plastic tamper included with the Leverpresso, more pressure (up to 15kg) will need to be applied when packing coffee grounds; than when using a professional-grade tamper. You can also purchase our two-in-one stainless steel Leveler & Tamper for more convenient espresso making.

What's the best coffee grind size for espresso?

When using the Leverpresso, a "Fine Grind" setting (0.4mm - 1.0mm diameter) is recommended for the best results. If you use pre-ground coffee, ask for "Espresso Grind".

Note; it is better to use the pressurized filter when using coarsely ground beans.

How durable is BPA-Free Tritan plastic?

The Leverpresso Water Cylinder is from 100% BPA-Free Tritan plastic, manufactured with no bisphenol compounds, such as bisphenol A (BPA) or bisphenol S (BPS). Tritan is also impact-resistant and highly durable.

Should a Leverpresso part wear out, the Leverpresso is easily disassemblable, and parts replaceable. Please see our Replacement Parts page for more details.

Does Leverpresso have a warranty?

Leverpresso comes with a limited 6-month warranty starting from the day of purchase and covers your Leverpresso against manufacturing defects.

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, accidents, or damage caused by misuse or use not in compliance with the Product Instructions.

What is the difference between pressurized and non-pressurized Filters?

Non-pressurized filters give you more control over the brewing process than pressurized filters. When using a non-pressurized filter, you can easily adjust the water pressure output according to your taste preferences.

Pressurized filters allow you to use less force when making espresso, however, they do not give you the range of control over the extraction process as output pressure is fixed. Resulting in a less diverse range of flavors you can get from your coffee beans.

Additionally, applying too much force while using a pressurized filter may result in a thin-bodied espresso with a crema made up of a few large bubbles.

When it comes to producing crema, fresh ground beans roasted no more than 4 weeks in advance must be used for optimal results regardless of filter type.

Warning, never use whole-unground beans with your Leverpresso.

Could I use capsules or pods?

Please do not use capsules or pods with the Leverpresso.

How to replace the O-ring?

First, begin by raising the levers to their full upright position.

From there, using a flat head screwdriver, unscrew the bolts located on both sides of the levers.

Next, detach the levers from the top of the machine, allowing you to slide both clamps outwards, releasing the Water Cylinder.

Firmly grab the piston from the top of the Water Cylinder and gently pull up, removing the piston from the cylinder.

You may then release the O-ring from the piston by using your fingers, a screwdriver, or other smooth, flat-headed device.
